VNG (Videonystagmography)

Videonystagmography (VNG) includes a series of tests that uses an infrared video camera attached to a pair of goggles to measure eye movements. Patients reporting vertigo or dizziness are often referred to have a VNG to confirm or rule out the presence of a vestibular dysfunction.

This test is performed in three different parts:

VNG (Videonystagmography) Watertown

Computerized Dynamic Posturography (CDP)

Computerized Dynamic Posturography (CDP) and Optokinetic Testing (OKN) in Watertown

Computerized Dynamic Posturography (CDP) is a test that measures how well the visual, vestibular, and somatosensory systems work together to maintain balance. This test is used in conjunction with a VNG to help determine a patient’s primary area of deficit which will help guide your vestibular rehabilitation. During this evaluation, we assess the function of each system independently and in conjunction with each other.

Optokinetic Testing (OKN)

Eye movement induced by the tracking of a moving field is Optokinetic Testing. OKN is used to assess the cerebral symmetry, visual acuity in infants.
